Crafting a Shoe Lace Flogger

I’ve been seeing shoe lace floggers recently around the internet lately and I’ve been skeptical about it. I showed Tim a reddit post where someone made one and said that they looked neat but seemed really harsh. Indicating, I thought, that I didn’t want to make one, but it was still kind of neat.

Well I guess I’m making one.

I bought the SPARKLIEST shoe laces I could find

They smell like incense though which is . . . something

I braided the laces super-tight, so although there’s no support on the handle (like a wood dowel or anything) it still feels like a solid handle. You could bend it if you tried, but it’s not going to bend from normal use. I’m pretty impressed with how good the handle looks because I kind of bullshitted a round braid and it actually worked really well.

I was not planning on removing the aglets although that would still result in a different feeling flogger since the glitter laces are kind of stiff and rough.

I uhh. I’m skeptical about how much I’ll like this one. It’s concerningly light. Which probably means it’s all sting.
Guess I’ll find out Friday if we get to have a play session. (Some family stuff is going on and we may have to cancel the play date this week)

But I suppose for $16 in supplies it’s no big loss if it just becomes rare use or decorative.

Better lighting to show off how sparkly it really is —

I think about making a few extras to sell sometimes to recoup the costs a bit.
Haven’t quite solidified the idea yet. I frequently put a ton of time into my toys that would make them not worth selling . . . but this honestly took me like an hour so far. Just need to figure out the finishing on the handle base and it’s good to go

Since the first sparkly AF shoe lace flogger I made got enough attention I am actually going to try to sell one on Etsy and see how that goes. Eventually. When I bother to take actually good product photos of it.

All in all, I hate this toy. It’s genuinely too harsh for me if used hard at all. It’s got an interesting rough texture for sensual play, but for actual strikes, I can’t take much of it. The last time we played with it I had started to spiral with a “why” kind of feeling in my head like a — why is he doing this to me — sort of thing. I stopped the play and told him what was going on. I was going to start crying if we’d continued. We stopped and he put it away and hasn’t brought it out again. I didn’t want it put away forever, but it’s just too harsh for anything too long and he does like to hit hard and long, so having something he can’t use that hard on me is less fun for him, so I get it.

It’s pretty at least.
