Been poking around etsy all night looking at toys for inspiration for things I might want to try making. Came across this. And I’m just like . . . that looks so unique I must try that. Working on the petal style flogger and I decided to do a paper test braid but I’m thinking I really should have just taken the time to set up the cricut.
I plan on using the glowforge to do the leather but scissors seemed easier than cricut software. Unsure at this point. =\

Prototype petal fall. I want it a bit longer but I did pretty good with initial estimates.

2024 NOTE – after attempting this with leather, I’ve more or less abandoned the project. Maybe I’ll pick it up again some day?

I did make something that is likely to have a similar feel using suede. I think if I did this out of a thinner and pre-dyed leather it may work better. General scraps just didn’t work out.
